In Oslo, on June 7 and June 8 the AHLC (Ad-hoc Liaison Committee) meetings are being held. On the first day Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre held a joint press conference with the Palestinian Prime minister Salam Fayyad.
Both optimism and hope for the Palestinian situation was expressed. Foreign Minister Støre underlined the importance of continues aid, but stated that he understood that most country still had problems because of the economical crisis. As for the unstable political situation in Palestine, MP Fayyad explained that “the political instability is also a reason why we need more aid.” June 8 Foreign Minister Støre will have a breakfast meeting with the American special envoy to the Middle East, George J. Mitchell to discuss further the situation
