Finally, the oil spill nightmare might come to an end starting from today. BP is having a pressure test today which could signal the beginning of an end.
BP is planning to install a stack of valves on top of the well and will try to see if they can stop the flow of the crude oil into the gulf for 48 hrs as a test.
If everything goes according to plan, the valves should stop the oil long enough till the well is plugged with cement for the next 30 days.
In case, this fails, BP will continue siphoning the oil to the ships. So far, the well has been spewing 60,000 barrels of oil, a day.
