Being a new member to this community and beginning to write my first article here, i extend my greetings and wish the best for all!
As I sat down to write I was wondering which topic to pick up and numerous topics flashed through my mind; to name a few : How to be an Entrepreneur, Who should be an entrepreneur? , Who should not be an entrepreneur?, How to find good opportunities? Do’s and Don’ts of the business? , How to write a good B-plan/Characteristics of a good B-plan?, How/where to find the investors? , How to manage the finances of your business well?, Scope of Entrepreneurship in India?
Well , these are not just the topics but are the FAQs of Entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship is a buzzword these days or you can even call it a bug indeed which is spreading like anything ; and this is the reason the above questions have become the FAQs today; the most common being “How to be an Entrepreneur…. But do we have some set answers to these questions??
Lets shatter all stereotypes! Lets examine the buzzword frequently heard and used, but rarely explained. Different people give different answers to them hence adding more to the confusion. Don’t worry, I am not here to add further to it. The fact is that there is no set answer for “how to be an Entrepreneur.
The concept was first established in the 1700s, and the meaning has evolved ever since.
With the changing times and increasing dynamism of this global market, everything including Entrepreneurship is acquiring new lengths and breadths.
But still to find an answer, we can take help of the basics and getting to the basics we can realize few traits for entrepreneurship…. rest are all icing for the cake!!
1. should be able to see an opportunity and exploit it.
2. You should know when to start.
3. You should also know when to stop when something is not working
Economists and Business people differ in their definitions but one thing which correlates both and to which everyone agrees is, entrepreneurship is a vital ingredient for stimulating economic growth and employment opportunities in all societies, particularly in developing world.
Considering this, we can for-sure say that Entrepreneurship is very vital for India and is one of the important gradient in face lifting India on Global platform.
The good news is that these days there are ample of Entrepreneurs making India a platform for future business leaders but its not all that easy as that seems to be. There are many SMEs coming up but many are still competing hard to survive .. and what we need is many more flourishing SMEs and large no of successful big players. But this cannot be done by just enterpreneurship… what we need is Good Entrepreneurship!!
Good Entrepreneurship needs some catalysts to flourish and let flourish, to name a few:
- Govt policies (which are still ot up-to-date and people are not aware about the existing either)
- Infrastructure (it is still not the major concern for many in power)
- Financial literacy (majority of people lack it here)
- Business law awareness (not considered very important by many)
- Formal skill training in Marketing and Business Development .
The above things might not be mandatory but to emerge as a big player in today’s competitive world, one cannot afford to complacent on these either. Though it doesn’t goes to say that one should first educate onself on above and then give a kick-start. Learning is a gradual process which can go-on at its own pace while working, but what is important is to consier them important.
Wishing India and all of you….. a Good Entrepreneurship!!
Warm Regards
